I enjoyed them all for their eye candy - I think it's wonderful the complete world that Lucas has created whole.

Here's why it falls short of the first three. No balance in the force but not how you think.

There is no Han Solo to take the edge off.

When Alec Guiness was floated his mysticism the thing that balanced it was Han's skepticism. He spent the whole first movie sort of wondering out loud if he'd been hired by a bunch of Hari Krishna's

When Luke shows up claiming to be a Jedi Master, Han can barely keep his laughter in.

Oh and it would have helped if Hadyn and Padme had some of the chemistry as Ford and Fisher

I enjoyed all six but the reason the first three were better is all about the following exhange

"I love you"
"I know"

I'll also add that the reason the original series worked so well in so many ways was that special camaraderie that came from Luke, Leia, Han, & Chewy that continued through all three films. This brought a real point of conflict in the last confrontation in 'Jedi.'

As far as this trilogy, the writing and story could have benefited greatly if only George would've called up Lawrence Kasdan to take the edge off.

It's difficult to discount on-screen chemistry.

The original trilogy has it in spades. The prequels left it in the corner in a box.
