Is he.
Also you guys say you're the 'truth' in entertainment, so when I rtead yr 'teaser' review a few months ago for 'Cabin Fever' I got excited. After seeing it, the credibility of you guys went down the toilet for me. You guys are as bad as 'Aint it fat' news!

Yeah but seriously, is anyone going to answer this question?

Hi,
No, I'm not the same guy from the Minute men. I make far less money than he. I am, however, the same guy from Happy Cloud Pictures, Hollywood is Burning, Femme Fatales, The Dark Side and Film Threat.
Hope you're not too disappointed.

hi there!
isn't the internet wonderful? look what I found!
some talk here about mike watt. I know there's a guy named that who plays hockey.
I play bass. I don't make a lot of money (you guys crack me up!) but it's fun letting the freak flag fly. I'm turning fortysix in two weeks even, what a trippy life it sure can be...
now hey there - I've never complained about jamming econo... read my tour diaries - I dig it!
have an interesting time and I hope down the road we wave if we see each other.
be seeing you!

Ah, FINALLY, I get a chance to talk to the Mike Watt I'm constantly confused with. So, Mr. Watt, do you ever get asked "Are you the guy who writes for all those horror magazines?" (Hey, I can dream that I'm the center of attention occassionally, can't I?)

Saw Watt at the Cattle Club in Sacratormento back in '92 or some such. Those were the days when you could see an idol standing by the front door meeting and greeting everybody that came and left that night. Good times!
Also was at that Greek Theatre show w/ Primus. Holy cow, what a gig.
Anyway... heh... the Watt lovefest continues. :D

and on and on...i got to say one of the greatest shows ive ever seen was the firehose\beastie boys show at bogarts in cincy back in 92ish. a truly blistering show for a crowd that loved every second of it. rocknroll paradise...

Personally, I like it when he comes to Pittsburgh and my friends send me posters that say "Mike Watt on Stage Live!" and I feel like I have some sort of outside life.

hi mike watt,
it's mike watt here writing you. like I said, there's a guy playing hockey w/this same name. I also played a pad in guelph, canada called 'trashateria" (sp?) where the owner was named mike watt. there's also a cat in nyc or parts nearby that plays drums who has the same name. I think I'm the oldest so I was here first? no, no, no - I have an uncle named mike watt and he's even older! funny thing about names. believe or not, in the old minutemen days, lots of folks thought me and d. boon's names were both fake ones! I mean a lot of punks had fake names so I can understand that 'pert-near easy. but me getting confused w/a horror movie zine writer? that would be happening but I must confess it has happened yet. here's a little insight about bass cats: we look good making others look good so maybe not being the center the center of attention ain't so bad, huh? I get uncomfortable w/that role (the center of attention one) however so if you want it, mike watt - it's yours. and I play pittsburgh all the time (just did my 51st tour) so come up and meet me in person... or let me meet you!
I'd like to thank the people here who wrote such kind words and have seen gigs I've done over the years. that's very nice of you all. this is a place where film makers spiel, right? tell me which movies you've done and I'll check them out in return. I don't see a lot of movies but I feel I owe it to those who support doofs from pedro on bass. actually, I'm from virginia but moved here to pedro when I was ten. my pop was a sailor in the navy and it was closer to viet nam.
again, much respect to the warm welcome you cats have given me here.
on bass, watt

Whoah..I didn't notice that the 'real' Mike Watt responded...Well I'm in Australia, so I find it kinda cool that my enquiry worked thousands of kilometers away!!!
And in regards to 'Cabin Fever', I still stand by my claim that their review wasn't truthful enough!!!
'TRUTH in ENTERTAINMENT' isn't that an oxymoron for something that is an 'atifice' to begin with. Maybe they should call it 'Film Threat - accuracy in entertainment', still you guys have more cred than Mr.Ain't-It-Fat!
Re: Watt, I saw you play with J Mascis in Melbounre Australia 2 years ago. That punk rock speed twitch you were doing was very memorable.
I thought Mike Watt was the legendary bass player becuase alot of punk type people get into horror and trash cinema - people like Lydia Lunch, Richard Kern, Ramones, Cramps, Larry clark, T.Moore, and I thought they were sorta 6 degrees of separation from M.Watt type deal... (I left out Rob Zombie, coz his film sucked, and his goth/industro/glam/videogame shtick is lame, his beats and guitar sound are dreck, and Jim Foetus did it 10 times scarier, harder and meaner and got nothing.)
Cheers:cool:

Well, I'll certainly be there! Thanks for the invite. I'm looking forward to meeting the guy that never fails to disappoint the people who find out I'm not. (whoa, I lost myself on that one!)
