Anyone have any suggestions for movies that are awful, but have excellent commentary? I have one -- "Citizen Toxie" from Troma. Lloyd Kaufman is hysterical. He's self-deprecating and funny as hell. The best part is how much he lies during the commentary itself bragging that "big Hollywood stars like Ron Jeremy and Brad Pitt appear in Troma movies." This was during a scene with Ron Jeremy and some nameless actor. Lloyd is always good on commentary.

i totally agree - loyd is hilariuos...
i loved citizen toxie - but the commentary was way more entertaining... same with the making of... looks like the shit hits the fan there round the clock..
"Alright retards drop your tacos or i'll blow your brains out!!!"
I Spit On Your Grave has a commentary track by Joe Bob Briggs that is really decent.
If you like Briggs, that is.

I thought "Citizen Toxie" was the best of the series, but that may wear off with time. As much as I love Troma's new stuff, I get burned out on it a bit faster than I did the 80's flicks. Probably just nostalgic.
George P. Cosmatos's commentary on "Cobra" was pretty good. Movie wasn't so hot, but he had some interesting things to say. Movie's cheap to buy, and at least worth a rental, if you're in an old fashioned Stallone mood.
Since Mike Nelson of MST3K was so obsessed with "Road House," I wish MGM would have gotten him to do a commentary for that disc. They probably wanted people to take the flick seriously. And I thought they'd be bigger.

You know, that flick by the South Park guys about a sport that combined baseball and basketball?
I heard the commentary is hysterical. The guys start out fairly straight, but the beers can be heard opening, and the guys get drunker and drunker as the flim plays on. At one point, the audio completely cuts out for about twenty minutes because someone in the studio bumped the wrong button and didn't notice until later. It's the inebriation that makes it great.

BASEketball, Seedy.
Also, Eric mentioned in a previous topic about the Cannibal! The Musical DVD commentary. Man, I can't wait to get my hands on that one because he said that it goes from conversation about the film to a drunken farting match. WOOO-HOO!!!

Cube 2 was a dreadful, dreadful film, but the commentary (and other extras) were pretty cool on the DVD.
Another movie that I hated (although I'm going against the popular grain, since a lot of folks loved it) was Kevin Smith's "Chasing Amy." Hated the film, but I actually rented it again just to listen to the commentary track, which was pretty good (except for when Smith got all weepy and gushed over Joey Lauren Adams).

I just watched "The Rules of Attraction" last weekend on DVD. Hated the film with a passion (except for some innovative techniques that Avery did), but it is cool to have 6 commentary tracks.
But even then I thought the commentary tracks were lacking. Carrot Top did one, and it SUCKED HARD.
Also, Shannyn Sossaman's track was pretty lame. Couldn't even get through the first 15 minutes. She had quotes like, "We filmed this scene on September 11, and I was pretty hung over that day." and "Yeah, there I am just acting drunk again."
There were decent commentaries by the DP and Production Designer. Would have been nice to have had Avery do one.

"The Family Guy" commentaries by Seth McFarlane are the most gleefully profane I've ever heard.

Hehheh... So it's not QUITE a drunken farting match, but they definitely get drunk and at one point Trey wants to go get hookers instead of watching the rest of the movie. Hilarious commentary, one of my absolute favorites.

The commentary for CONAN THE BARBARIAN by Arnie and John Milius is awesome. But I'm not sure I totally hate the movie so it might not count.

Most of the track is Asia Argento calling everyone else involved in the movie "a piece of shit". Priceless!
