yeah, he's been a good guy a few times, but most of the time, deep down, he was still an asshole!
From his menacing performance in The Shawshank Redemption, to his over-the-top (in a good way) villainy in Highlander, he excels at making you cheer for the underdog.
His turn in Starship Troopers could even be considered "the asshole-because-he-has-to-be" catagory.
And, please, doesn't anyone remember him in the HBO classic Cast a Deadly Spell? (will this EVER come to dvd?!?)
Anyways, one of favorite actors, and I hope he continues to make me hate him for a long time to come!
PS: I hereby strike Earth 2 from his permenent record!

Good call, SuperScurry, but you're forgetting his ultimate role...
Lex Luthor, in both Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League.

No, no, it's his current role: Brother Justin in HBO's Carnivale. It's a classic Priest-Working-for-Evil role, and he finds the perfect balance between righteousness and malevolence. It's the best kind of asshole role, since everyone thinks he's a good guy.
The way he acquires Mr. Chin's is [with Mr. Burns inflection] excellent.
Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Sort of. I've only seen one episode so far. If I have time tonight I'll watch ep. two and three should be on tomorrow.

This is an excellent show. It has a languid, dreamy quality that invokes "Twin Peaks," but it's far from a rip-off. There's a whole lotta mystery, but enough stuff happens to keep the viewer (me) interested. Plus, it's got Michael J. Anderson, the "Man from Another Place" in it.
I saw in the credits that Bill ("Chop Top," "Otis") Moseley is in the show, but I haven't figured out who he is yet.
Anyone looking for something different on Sunday night should check it out.

And the link between the two? Michael J. Anderson, the backwards-talking dwarf from Twin Peaks is also the circus owner in Carnivale.

No, he doesn't OWN the Carnivale; he just runs it. Remember, he is given orders by Management. And I love the fact that his character is named Samson.

Ram it, ram it, ram it, ram it up your poop chute
Corn hole!
Ram it, ram it, ram it, ram it up your poop chute
Fist fuck!
Ram it, ram it, ram it, ram it up your poop chute
Wristwatch Crisco!
Don't fool yourself, girl, it's goin' right up your poop chute
Ay ay ay ay!
Yep, those are some profound lyrics, right there.
No, I'm not taking a shot; Frank himself said in his autobiography that, except for the snide political stuff, his song lyrics are STUPID. He writes them because no one wants to purchase or play instrumentals on the radio. I love the man. I sing "Bobby Brown Goes Down" all the time. When I'm alone, that is.

I got to be Clancy Brown's stand in on Pet Sematary 2 and I found him to be a very pleasant and funny guy. He would come up with better bits then the ones in the script constantly and could turn on the bad guy magic like he was fliping a light switch.
