Even though the results have varied (just like in the 60'-70's) I appreciate the return over the last year of pulpy, lower budgeted horror movies to the mega-screens of America. CABIN FEVER, WRONG TURN, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and even 28 DAYS LATER (which was very much in the spirit of those Amicus Productions of yore), to me, show heartening disregard of CGI dependence and increased value out of turning the screws on you and trying to make you squirm.

Sadly, our political enviroment is ripe to inspire a new era of horror movies. The Boogeymen are returning.

Yeah, horror movies always go through phases. What's going to end this one, ironically, is the remake to the ultimate drive-in movie - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
