RAW DEAL was one of my guilty pleasures from my childhood of the 80's. I enjoyed the sheer implausibility of it all and you might recall how Ah-nold mangled the phrase 'molested, murdered & mutilated.' It sounded like 'mooleshded, moodert & mooteeladed.'

I even shelled out the $5 bucks (Canadian) when I found the Anchor Bay widescreen video in a discount bin. I still occassionally enjoy it's sheer inanity, even in my advanced old age. Sometimes you just need something that doesn't make an ounce of sense to brighten your day.

Another interesting bit of trivia, the Dino version of Total Recall went through several writers and directors before it was finally sold to another studio. One of them was David Cronenberg. He had even gone so far as to start scouting locations in Tunisia when the deal fell through. That would have been an interesting version to see rather than the over the top bullet & splatter fest that was finally released.

This may be the best line ever written in a film review (for Johnny Mneumonic):

"...the Lo-Teks... are led by J-Bone, played by Ice-T"

You can't beat that.

This is a great column. I love me some terrible movies but "Black Dog" looked so awful, I skipped it. But after reading this column, I think I may be down for some "Black Dog."

And when one talks about Swayze, how can you skimp out on his amazing performance in "The Outsiders?"

Is this column still being written?

Umm... Is Brad Slager still wrapped in this mortal Coil???

It's been a long time since I have seen Milk Carton Cinema.

In fact, it's one of my favourite things about the whole damn site.

There's only one saccharine Bryan Adams.

That's correct. The quote I used was from "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut."

I liked it better when it was called Footage Fetishes.
