I thought this might be a good opportunity for creative minds to come up with some refreshing stuff that the "players" can peruse when they finally decide to take their heads out of their tofu platters. Give Hollywood a taste of what good screenwriting and filmmaking is all about.

Since it's hot as salsa from Purgatory in this room and I'm pretty burnt out, don't expect much from me right now. But that shouldn't stop the rest of you. Write away!

Here's what's rattling around in my pop culture-saturated mind right about now:

TREES LIKE THESE (Comedy) Woody Harrelson & Matthew McConaughey team up to battle evil government scientists who are hellbent on stealing the formula for magical marijuana. This wacky tobacky doesn't just get you higher than Mt. Everest, it can also cure terminal diseases, soften the resolve of even the scariest stoic, and help any automobile "pick up" speed in under 420. Special appearance by Liev Shreiber as a cross-dressing double agent; Meryl Streep as his domineering mother with a dick (literally!).

[And now, in all seriousness...]

I BEFORE H (Drama, Period Piece) Extensive, in-depth and meticulously detailed account of the Holocaust. The catch? This time, the filmmakers do it right, tackling the subject with a much larger brush, a much broader approach. "I Before H" tells the story of not only the Jews in concentration camps and the Nazis in power, but the (close to) six million Christians murdered for political reasons during Hitler's Reich and the many facets of Der Fuhrer himself...including the memories of his humble beginnings as a house painter and his unspoken love of flowers (the latter is, of course, a fictional speculation on my part).

The "I" in the film's title would represent each other individuals that the film focuses on, individually by chapter, and the "H"...well, that should be self-explanatory. This is a film about the Holocaust, after all.

Should be shot on something like Canon Xls HD cameras with Steadicam, Cranes and handheld devices. Blue gel on lenses for dark and/or poetic scenes of substantial discourse, revelation, etc.
