I'm a big fan of the old 1966 film The Sandwich Man, as negatively reviewed on this very site :)
I find the opportunity to glimpse views of the West End in 1966 particularly fascinating. But there's one location in particular which I just can't place -

From the geographical flow of the film, it ought to be somewhere between Piccadilly & The Mall, maybe near St James Square - but I just can't place it. Anyone any idea where?
Thanks!
James

Hello! I am the bloke who reviewed "The Sandwich Man." I can't say that I know where that particular photo was taken -- I don't even recall that scene from the film (but then again, I've tried to forget the movie).
I might recommend asking about a British-based film review site, such as Shadows on the Wall (which is authored by London-based Rich Cline, who is also a Film Threat contributor) or Joe Utichi's Film Focus (Joe is in London, too). They would have a better grasp of the city.
As for Michael Bentine, I would love to see more of his work. I only know him through "The Sandwich Man" and "Down Among the Z Men" (which was positively reviewed here).
Cheers!
