The trials and tribulations of mostly flaming homosexual, adolescent wanna-be entertainers housed at a “Fame”–like summer camp. Yawn and stretch as you witness their struggles with life, love and petty rivalries. Cry along with them as they stage numerous revivals of bad musical theater. Hear Ellen moan like a wounded cow (or beached whale) about how her father told her, “You're not even the prettiest one in your class". Enjoy the one and only laugh in the entire movie as Michael is pummeled by fellow students for attempting to attend his junior prom wearing a gown. And special kudos to Robin DeJesus as Michael, never has a young actor better portrayed a lisping, zit-faced, irritating little fag to such perfection. The filmmakers make us understand just how much we need self-obsessed, untalented and swishy teen actors.
